Quick & Painless Treatments

Cryotherapy is an effective treatment for warts, skin tags, milia, age spots and cherry angioma.
Freeze away imperfections such as skin tags, freckles and moles in seconds.

What is Cryotherapy?

Cryotherapy or Cryosurgery is a highly effective and safe procedure that is used to remove benign skin lesions.

It uses liquid nitrous oxide to produce extremely cold temperatures, which is ideal for the safe and controlled removal of unwanted skin lesions and imperfections.

At Nicola Haywood Aesthetics I use the CryoPen O+ device which is made by the leading CryoPen brand, the device is fully CE certified and FDA approved. It is only for use only by trained medical professionals. With its pinpoint precision and minimal discomfort, CryoPen has become the preferred choice for patients who have various types of skin blemishes and want them removed with little fuss.

Cryotherapy is beneficial as it is quicker than other treatments and patients can have minimal disruption to their day. It requires no anaesthesia and has minimal scarring. There is minimal downtime and patients can return to normal activities after treatment.

What can cryotherapy treat?

It can be used for a variety of treatments, like the freezing of warts, cyotherapy for skin tags, verrucas and much more:

THE cryotherapy treatment EXPERIENCE

The actual treatment process with CryoPen is quick and relatively painless. Here’s what to expect:

01

PRECISE CRYOPEN APPLICATION

CryoPen is applied directly to the lesion using a fine, targeted jet of extreme cold.
02

CONTROLLED FREEZING OF THE LESION

The extreme cold works to freeze the targeted tissue quickly and accurately, while minimising impact on the surrounding skin.
03

NATURAL HEALING RESPONSE

After treatment, the area may redden, blister or form a small scab before healing naturally over time.

What are the benefits of cryotherapy?

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

The CryoPen is quick, efficient and generally painless, without the need for local anaesthetic.

For most lesions, cryotherapy is a permanent removal. Some lesions are harder to remove than others.

Side effects are usually minimal and temporary. Some common side effects include redness and swelling at the treatment site, mild discomfort during the treatment, blistering or crusting in the treated area or changes in skin colour (either lighter or darker). Serious complications are rare but will be discussed during your consultation.

Occasionally, a blister might form and persist for up to 5 days. Typically, healing will occur from 2-6 weeks, depending on the size and location of the blemish.

Most lesions will respond to a single treatment. However, some deeper lesions may take several treatments to get results.

There are no limitations on activity except to protect the treated area from damage or abrasion.
