No. Anti-wrinkle injections (Botox) are not recommended during pregnancy or while breastfeeding, so I do not treat in these situations. If you’re planning a pregnancy or currently breastfeeding, we can still have a consultation to discuss your options for the future.
There is no “perfect” age and it’s not about chasing a number. Treatment is based on your skin, muscle movement and concerns rather than your date of birth. Some people choose to start in their late 20s or 30s when lines first appear, while others wait until their 40s or 50s. At your consultation I’ll always give you age-appropriate advice and will never recommend treatment you don’t need.
No. When Botox wears off, your muscles gradually return to their normal movement and your lines return to how they were before treatment. They may feel more noticeable if you’ve been used to everything looking very smooth, but stopping treatment doesn’t make your wrinkles worse. In fact, regular treatment can sometimes mean lines don’t progress as quickly, because the muscles have had a “rest”.
Ideally, book your treatment at least 4 weeks before an important event such as a wedding, holiday or photoshoot. This allows plenty of time for the results to fully develop and for any minor bruising or swelling to settle. If you’re new to treatment with me, this also gives us time to review your results and make any small adjustments if needed.
